If worry, overthinking, or a constant undercurrent of unease is running your days, therapy can help you understand what is driving it and build lasting relief.
Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. For some people it is constant worry that is hard to switch off, for others it is a racing mind at night, a tendency to assume the worst, or a body that stays tense even when nothing is wrong. Anxiety is often closely tied to how secure or unsafe relationships have felt over time, which is part of why I see attachment patterns as part of anxiety treatment instead of a separate topic.
From an EFIT perspective, anxiety is often a secondary emotion that develops around more vulnerable feelings such as fear, hurt, or sadness, and it can become a way of staying alert to the possibility of disconnection or failure. Lasting change tends to come from changing your relationship with uncertainty and with the feelings beneath the worry, so that anxious thoughts have less influence over how you live.

How Therapy Helps
Many approaches to anxiety focus on managing symptoms in the moment, through breathing, grounding, or distraction, and these tools have a place in my practice as well. They do not always address why the anxiety keeps returning, which is often tied to habits like checking, seeking reassurance, avoiding, or replaying scenarios that bring short-term relief and keep the cycle going.
Together we learn to tell the difference between a feeling worth staying with and a habit that quietly feeds the cycle, and we look at what is underneath the worry, which is often connected to how safe the world and relationships have felt over time. A 2025 randomized controlled trial found significant reductions in anxiety, depression, and psychological distress after approximately 15 sessions of EFIT.
