Anxiety
Signs that tend to get overlooked because everything still looks fine on the outside.
High-functioning anxiety is a strange thing to live with, because on paper things look fine. Deadlines get hit. Emails get answered fast. People describe you as reliable, put-together, someone who has it handled. What doesn't show up on paper is the cost of staying that put-together.
Because it works, at least for a while. Anxiety can be genuinely productive in short bursts, and a lot of people build an identity around being the reliable one, the one who handles it. The problem is that this version of anxiety doesn't announce itself the way a panic attack does. It just quietly runs the show in the background until something gives, usually in the form of burnout, physical symptoms, or a much harder time regulating once the external structure (a job, a relationship, a routine) changes.
Therapy for this usually starts less with learning to relax and more with figuring out what the anxiety has been managing or protecting against, so the coping doesn't have to work quite so hard.
A short consult call is a good place to talk through what's underneath it.
